Dermal Fillers & Sculptra

DERMAL FILLERS AT A GLANCE

Your face is your first impression — and with age, our self-confidence can be affected by volume loss, deep folds, and creases. Genetic and lifestyle factors alike contribute to the aging process, causing supple skin to sag and lose elasticity. Thankfully, injectables such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra allow us to both restore volume loss and enhance your natural features to give you the timeless, natural radiance you desire.

Dermal Filler & Sculptra

How Juvederm and Restylane Injections Work

Juvederm and Restylane are clear gel products containing hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar molecule which occurs naturally in your body, in your connective tissue, internal fluids, and even your eyes. When expertly injected, these dermal filler injection molecules absorb water (up to 1000 times their weight!) which provides subtle volume enhancement to areas such as the cheeks, lips, under eye hollows, temples, and chin. Different dermal fillers are designed for different areas of your facial anatomy (with varying viscosity), allowing you to define your best features while restoring areas impacted by age.

How Sculptra Aesthetic Injections Work

Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved facial injection made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that helps boost skin’s own natural collagen production. As we age, we lose collagen, leading to volume loss and loss of elasticity. Sculptra works deep within the skin’s surface and is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body to stimulate collagen production. On average, three or more initial treatment sessions are required over a course of several months, and results can last as long as two years or longer.

Unlock a more youthful-looking appearance by restoring facial volume and improving the look of the nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, preauricular wrinkles (the vertical wrinkles in front of the ears), radial cheek folds (vertical wrinkles on the lower cheek) and chin wrinkles.

Restore & Enhance With Injectable Dermal Fillers

By assessing your unique facial structure and anatomy, your injector will determine the very best injectable to use to achieve your goals. With meticulous technique, we will ensure your end result restores lost volume or provides a subtle enhancement — making you look better, never different.

Following your treatment, some minor redness or bruising may occur, but these symptoms generally subside within several days. Depending on the area and amount injected, a follow-up session may be scheduled. You’ll enjoy your results for between six months and two years, depending on the area where dermal filler is placed.

How long does filler last?

Depending on the product used for your procedure, filler can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months. Any time an injection is done, the volume of the filler is at its maximum. Your body will be breaking down or metabolizing the filler over the following several months, such that what you start with on day one is not what you have six months or a year into the process. Also during this time you will, unfortunately, continue to age, which means that you are experiencing ongoing bone, muscle, and fat loss.

Are fillers safe?

Severe complications from dermal fillers are uncommon. Potential risks vary depending on the specific filler used and the relative permanence of the filler substance and include: acne-like skin eruptions, asymmetry, bleeding from the injection site, bruising, infection at the injection site, lumps, palpability of the filler under the surface of the skin, skin necrosis (ulceration or loss of skin from disruption of blood flow), skin rashes with itching, skin redness, swelling, and under- or over-correction. In very rare cases, filler may accidentally be injected into the blood vessels under the skin. If your eye is affected, you might lose your eyesight or go blind. (Source: plastic surgery.org)

Can I get filler and Botox the same day?

The short answer: it depends. Patients often receive both treatments together and it is safe. However, as with anything, there are always caveats. Much of it depends on individual patient characteristics as well as goals of care as well as patient preferences and tolerances. That is why an individual consultation is always the first step to any successful relationship.
