Magnetic Energy To Stay In Shape? Drew Barrymore Credits Game-Changing Procedure

Drew Barrymore is the latest star to reveal her secret to looking fabulous — and it happens to be, well, magnetic.

The 44-year old actress admits she struggled to “look fit” post-pregnancy despite her best efforts in the gym — including dance cardio classes and Pilates. “After having my daughters my body changed and my core strength was turned upside down,” Barrymore said in a written statement.

To help tighten up the stubborn mid-section Barrymore discovered a new treatment called Emsculpt that is gaining buzz in Hollywood. It’s a non-invasive electromagnetic procedure that can help strengthen the mid-section. The unique technology induces approximately 20,000 supramaximal muscle contractions per 30-minute session. In other words, it’s the equivalent of your muscles doing thousands of sit-ups without the actual physical effort.

According to Dr. Kristina McAteer, medical director for Oceanside Aesthetics and Wellness, patients that are looking to tone muscle and lose fat are ideal candidates, “The device has an excellent safety profile which was a significant factor in deciding to bring this to my practice! During the procedure, you will feel the muscles contracting however it is not painful and you can return to activity immediately afterward. A series of four thirty-minute sessions are recommended over the initial two week period.”

As for Barrymore, she is now a spokesperson for Emsculpt and swears that she can visibly see the results with a more engaged core.

The cost is usually around $3,000 for a full treatment and other areas, like buttocks, can be treated as well.
